Outstanding Orange Blossom Cookies: A Twist On A Classic Cookie

If you love blossom cookies, you have to try these orange blossom cookies! They’re a great twist on a classic cookie with an alternative orange flavor. They may remind you of the orange chocolates that show up in stores during Christmas time.

Soft & Colorful Sprinkle Cookies

Ingredients

Butter- the fat in these cookies

Sugar- there’s a lot more brown sugar than white sugar to make them chewier

Eggs- this recipe needs 1 egg and one egg yolk for a chewier cookie

Vanilla – adds flavor. Many people say to double the vanilla in recipes, but that is not necessary as this is plenty of vanilla flavor. If you want you can add orange extract instead to deepen the orange flavor

Baking soda – baking soda is the rising agent for these cookies

Orange- for the orange flavor, juice one medium orange for about 1/4 a cup of orange juice, alternatively you can use store bought orange juice

Orange zest- orange zest deepens the orange flavor

Flour- flour is the binding agent for these cookies, I haven’t attempted to use any flour alternatives, but you can give it a try

Hug chocolates- this recipe makes about 40 cookies so it will need about 40 hugs for the centers of each cookie

Tips

  • Don’t scoop your flour, instead spoon it into the measuring cup, or shake it in.
  • Don’t over mix your cookies
  • Use a cookie scoop to make sure all of your cookies are the same size.
  • I love to make my cookie dough, roll it into balls, and then freeze it in a plastic bag to eat later.
  • You can freeze the dough for 10 minutes to make sure that the cookies won’t spread.
  • Use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to keep your cookies from sticking to the pan.
  • Use an oven thermometer to ensure your oven is actually at the temperature it says it is.
  • If your oven has hot spots, make sure you turn your pan half way through the bake.
  • Remove cookies earlier rather than later to keep them from overcooking.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to one week.

Let me know what you think!
