Broom/dustpan
Any basic broom will do, I am biased towards Harper brush brooms. I also like to have a small hand broom & dustpan.
Vacuum
In the rental unit we have a simple plug in Bissell vacuum, for cleaning we have a shark cordless pro stick vacuum.
Mop
We use a bona mop for ease, but we’ve considered getting a spin mop in the future.
Dish sponge/ brush
We use oxo soap dispensing dish brushes for less mess and a whole lot less smell while washing dishes. The heads can easily be replaced if there is ever a smell.
Dish soap
We were using Walmart’s ultra dish soap, but I hated the scent so we switched to ginger lilly farms fragrance free dish soap.
Cleaning rags
We have some nanoscale streak free cleaning cloths. They get the job done, but there might be better options out there. Make sure you have 2 different colored rags one for the bathroom and one for everywhere else and don’t mix them up.
All purpose cleaner
We started out with gonzo, it has a light citrus scent and cleans everything well. But recently we switched to Zep’s all purpose cleaner. It also has a light citrus scent and does a decent job.
Glass cleaner
Windex is popular for a reason, but Walmart’s off brand glass cleaner cleans the exact same.
Vinegar
Vinegar is an old cleaning product and quite versatile. It’s great for descaling anything, removing odors or even softening fabric in the washing machine.
Toilet brush
You need some sort of brush to scrub the toilet. We prefer the silicone ones that attach to the tank of the toilet.
Toilet bowl cleaner
We love zep. It kills all the things and leaves the toilets clean.
Laundry pods
Cleaning dirty linens is necessary, we buy Amazon basics laundry pods. They avoid powder messes and liquid spills
Dish washer pods
If you have a dishwasher in the unit, pods are the way to go. We use Walmarts basic pods.
