Ingredients

Pork– a pork shoulder is best to get the right consistency, you can also use a pork loin roast

Broth– I use chicken stock, it’s purpose is added flavor so you can choose to use water instead of broth but you will lose some flavor

BBQ sauce– I love sweet baby rays BBQ sauce, but you can use any BBQ sauce for this recipe

Directions

Instant pot

  • Add pork to instant pot
  • Pour broth and BBQ sauce over top
  • Pressure cook for 45 minutes
  • Naturally release for 10 minutes then quick release
  • Shred
  • Add extra BBQ sauce over top

Crock pot

  • Add pork to the crock pot
  • Pour broth and BBQ sauce over top
  • Cook on low for 8 hours
  • Shred
  • Add extra BBQ sauce over top to serve

Sous Vide

  • Start the sous vide bath
  • Put pork in freezer bags or sous vide bags with sauce
  • Set temp to 165
  • Add bags to the bath
  • Cook for 24 hours
  • Shred
  • Add extra BBQ sauce over top

Tips

  • For the instant pot, you might want to ladle out extra broth and liquid
  • Try adding a tiny bit of liquid smoke for a smoky flavor
  • Try using one can of coke soda instead of water
  • After cooking and shredding, add a portion to a quart freezer bag and freezer for a later meal
