Soft and Scrumptious Cranberry Scones

These cranberry scones are delicious and quick and easy to pull together. Cranberry scones are soft and tender. Make them for breakfast or afternoon tea!

Cranberry scones

Ingredients

Flour- the base of these scones

Sugar- to sweeten them 

Baking powder- the rising agent 

Cinnamon- for flavor

Butter- this should be cold and at least cubed into small cubes if not grated

Sour cream- for keeping these scones tender

Heavy whipping cream- this helps keep them fluffy, you can use coconut cream as a substitute

Egg- one egg as a binding agent

Vanilla extract- for flavor

Cranberries- these can be fresh, frozen, or dried, if you use fresh or frozen these will be much more sour, dried will be much sweeter

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 

Mix all dry ingredients 

Add in the wet ingredients 

Use a pastry cutter to mix all ingredients 

Pour out onto a sheet of parchment paper

Cut into triangles

Spread out on a prepared baking sheet 

Bake for 20-30 minutes

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cold butter grated
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup whipping cream can use coconut cream as a substitute
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup dried cranberries

Instructions
