Homeschooling Supplies I Have Feelings About

I’m entering my second year of homeschooling my two oldest kids and these are some of the homeschooling supplies I’ve either known I’ve had feelings about or discovered that I have feelings about during my first year of homeschooling.

Crayola All The Way!

As many teachers will tell you, Crayola is far superior to other brands of drawing utensils. Crayons, markers, watercolors, and colored pencils are best when bought from Crayola.

Erasable Colored Pencils

My kids hardly ever used colored pencils until they discovered the erasable ones. They love that they can erase their colored mistakes! We only buy the erasable ones now.

Skinny Dry Erase Markers

The thicker ones are harder for kids to write accurately and we use them for handwriting and drawing. Because of this, we buy the skinny ones. They do get damaged easier so watch out with your younger kids.

No More Crayons

People hand these out like they’re candy. Restaurants, every bazaar, and holidays – you’re sure to get way too many. We don’t use them enough to ever need to buy more. I have literally hundreds of crayons that will probably never be used up completely.

Ticonderoga Pencils

This brand of pencils is the top brand. Off brand pencils don’t even compare. They’re durable, leave a smooth line, and are overall a reliable pencil to go with. They have thick ones for little hands or thin ones for older kids.

Sharpie S-gel Pens

These aren’t for the kids, these are for me. They are the best pens I’ve ever used. They’re smooth, leave a thick line, and are comfortable to hold. It’s hard to use different pens now that I’ve discovered these.

Notebooks

We don’t use notebooks effectively. I love the idea of them, but I find my kids constantly pulling pages out and the notebooks get destroyed. My kids are way happier to have loose blank pages to draw, write, and color on.
