If you’re starting up an Airbnb, this is a great starting place. To ensure that your guests have a great experience, it’s best to make sure that you are designing everything appropriately. Here are some tips I have for setting up and decorating your space to provide your guests with the best experience.

Pillows
Purchase standard sized pillows for any beds, twin, full, queen, or even king beds. King sized pillows are harder and take longer to put the pillow in.
Blankets
Purchase blankets that are one size up from the bed size. Some blankets are hard to tuck in, getting a blanket up one size will make it easier to tuck it in. If you have a twin bed get full sized blankets, queens get kings, and for kings consider purchasing California king blankets.
No shag
Shag rugs or blankets sound nice and cozy, but cleaning them is another story. They’re are basically garbage if someone vomits, poops, or spills anything. Do not get anything that is shag.
Art
Art can be incredibly personal, but for an Airbnb, if you are going with a theme, make sure to choose your art early on in case you need to get something else instead. Be sure to hang the art so that the center of the piece is at 57 inches off the floor.
Style, theme & color
Each room should have a theme or at the very least a color scheme. Make sure you make the decision on it early on and stick with it so you can have a cohesive space.
Blue
Blue is the most popular color on Airbnb. If you are looking for a color scheme, try blue, most people like it and choose spaces with blue themed rooms.
Curtains
Be sure to hang your curtains at least 4 inches above the top of the frame of the window. Also, be sure the curtain rod goes past the sides of the window frame by at least 6 inches. Ensure your curtains go almost to the ground but avoid dragging. Don’t forget to ensure the curtain rod is level. Measure twice, drill once. Check out this video for more information.
