12 Things I’m Thankful For

Sometimes it’s easy to focus on the bad things going on around us. It’s good to think about what’s good in life. There are so many things to be thankful for, here are twelve things I have an immense gratitude for.

People

  • My husband – I am beyond thankful to have my husband. He is loving, determined, and always willing to help. I love how he provides for our family, and chooses to love me, even when I’m difficult. I don’t know what I would do without him in my life.
  • My children – I really enjoy being around my children. They are so full of potential. They teach me a lot of patience and consistency. We have been blessed with the best kids we could possibly have.
  • Kindness of strangers – I am continually floored by the kindness of people I don’t even know. It’s amazing how people are willing to help and love those they don’t know. It’s a reminder that I should reciprocate to those I don’t know.

Freedom

  • Religious freedom – I am so blessed to be in a country where I don’t have to worry about being persecuted for my faith.
  • Freedom of speech – We are so blessed to live where I don’t have to worry about the words I say or write. I am allowed to voice my concerns and frustrations without fear of retaliation.

Physical things

  • My house – Our home is more beautiful than I thought we would be in at this stage in our lives. We have high ceilings and space for my kids to run.
  • A car – In the state I live in, a reliable car is nothing to laugh at. I am thankful that we have a car that isn’t just a beater with a heater.
  • My phone – Technology is fascinating and it’s amazing that I can connect with so many individuals with just one device. I am thankful that I have a phone that can access information and connect me with people.
  • Indoor plumbing – I know more than most how thankful I am for this. Having lived in a dry cabin previously, running water is amazing! I am thankful for kitchen sink’s, fully functioning bathroom’s, and our washer and dryer.

Non-tangible things

  • Financially secure – We aren’t living paycheck to paycheck. This is something I take for granted. We are blessed financially and I am thankful for that. We need to practice showing our thankfulness by giving more generously.
  • My education – I am blessed that I have a father who valued education and made a way to pay for my college education.
  • This beautiful earth – We live on such an amazing planet. I am so thankful for being able to live where there are northern lights, coral reefs, volcanos, mountains, oceans, desserts and meadows and all other beautiful creation’s across the globe.
