Praying over your kids should happen all the time. One great way to include prayer in your day is to pray over your kids as part of the discipline. Here are some ideas for how to pray over your kids for their sins.

For each of the simple prayers below, fill in the blank with your child’s name to pray over their sins and ask for our Father’s help.
Hitting & Kicking
Jesus, thank you for your child ___. God please help ___ control his/her body. Give him/her the self control to not harm those around him/her. Help ___ to have patience and love even when he/she is frustrated.
Disobedience
Lord, you created ___. You love and cherish him/her. He/she is your child. Help ___ to obey you by obeying his/her parents. God you gave him/her to us to disciple as your child. Help us as ___’s parents to know how to train him/her right.
Backtalk
God, please help ___ to honor his/her mother and father. Teach ___ to be respectful and use kind words to communicate. Help ___ to breathe before responding and share his/her feelings in an appropriate way.
Lying
Lord Jesus, help ___ to speak the truth. You know what’s in his/her heart. Give him/her the strength and courage to be honest even when it’s hard. Show ___ how to be trustworthy in everything. Help us as ___’s parents to show grace when ___ tells the truth especially when it’s difficult.
