Chili-Mac Meal Plan For 2

If you love chili and mac & cheese, then this chili-mac meal plan is perfect for you.  This chili mac meal plan will allow you to eat one, the other, or both every day of the week. This plan is designed for two adults using Walmart prices so that your food budget will stretch. Unless otherwise marked all products are great value. I’m assuming you have no ingredients at your home, so my shopping list includes everything you will need.

Chili-mac

  • Beans (x2) 1.00 (pinto beans)
  • Hot dog buns 2.48
  • Hot dogs 1.70 (barS)
  • Beef 3.96 (1 lb)
  • Mac & cheese (x2) 0.60
  • Peas & carrots 1.23
  • Green beans 1.23
  • Peanut butter 2.22 (18 oz)
  • Jelly 3.14 (30 oz) 
  • Bread (x2) 2.48
  • Chicken noodle soup 0.98
  • Club crackers 3.98
  • Bananas (x5) 0.26 
  • Milk 2.88 (½ gallon)
  • Butter 1.98 (imperial)
  • Cereal 1.78 (honey nut o’s)
  • Eggs 5.14 (18 ct)
  • Cheese 2.40 (cheddar 8 oz)

Breakfast

Cereal– top with some milk 

Eggs– scramble or serve over easy 

Toast– top with butter, peanut butter, or jam

Lunch

Pb&j sandwiches– spread jam and pb on bread

Pb & banana sandwich– spread peanut butter and slices of a banana on a piece of bread

Chicken noodle soup– enjoy with a side of crackers

Dinner

Chili– open a can of chili and add beef & beans, enjoy with a side 

Chili dogs– eat leftover chili on a hotdog bun with cheese 

Mac & cheese– make Mac & cheese with hot dogs

Mac dogs– add Mac & cheese over a hotdog on a bun 

Chilli Mac – combine chili & Mac & cheese into a meal  

Snacks & sides

Peas & carrots– top with butter or enjoy plain

Green beans– top with butter or enjoy plain 

Apples – top with pb, sauté in butter, or enjoy by itself

Bananas– top with pb, saute in butter, or enjoy by itself

Club crackers– top with pb, or enjoy by themselves

Tips

  • Get some of the items from the dollar store like peanut butter, jelly, bread, chili, and beans.
  • Make a big pot with both cans of chili, beans, and beef at the beginning of the week for less work throughout the week
  • Make sure your portions are appropriate
