A Day In The Life Of A Stay At Home Mom To 3 Three And Under

I have a 3 and a half year old, a 2 year old and a 4 month old so my life is quite hectic as a stay at home mom with 3 kids three years old and under. At any given moment I may be nursing, changing a diaper, cleaning up an accident, rocking a baby to sleep, prepping a meal, or calming heightened toddler emotions.

This is an ideal schedule for a day. This isn’t always what happens, but in an ideal world this is how my day would go.

6:30. My day begins at 6:30 sometimes earlier. My youngest wakes up to nurse so I get out of bed, throw some clothes on and sit down on the couch to indulge her need

7:30. I start making breakfast, usually, pancakes, cereal, eggs, or oatmeal

7:45. My older children get up and eat breakfast

8:15. I put my youngest down for her first nap

8:30. I change my older kids into day time clothes

9:00. If we are going somewhere in the morning we usually head out at about 9 am. I try my best not to wake up my youngest as I lug her around with us. We usually go to my son’s speech, other appointments, or to hang out with a friend at this time

10:30. My youngest wakes up from her nap and I start making lunch, which usually consists of ramen, mac & cheese, peanut butter sandwich, chicken nuggets, wontons, or homemade lunchables

11:00. My older kids eat lunch while I nurse the youngest

12:00. My older kids begin their rest time

12:30. My youngest begins her second nap

2:30. All of my kids wake up from their naps. I nurse my youngest

3:00. If we’re going somewhere in the afternoon, we head out at about 3. We usually go to the children’s museum or another public activity at this time

4:30. My youngest takes her third nap and I start making dinner

5:00. My husband comes home and my family eats dinner together. My youngest wakes up from her nap and I nurse her

6:00. Twice a week my older kids get a bath at this time that usually lasts until 6:30

6:15. My older kids get yogurt in a squeazy pouch

6:30. My older kids get ready for bed

7:00. All the kids go to bed. I try to take a shower and spend time with my husband

9:00. I would ideally be going to bed around 9

10:00. My youngest wakes up to nurse

3:00. My youngest wakes up to nurse

So that’s my day in a nutshell.
