9 Items You Don’t Want To Forget in Japan With Kids

Traveling with kids comes with lots of stuff, but here are some things you might not think to have at all times when traveling to Japan with kids.

Hand towel

Most public bathrooms don’t have a hand dryer or paper towels so bring a quick drying hand towel that will work for you and any children you bring with you that need clean dry hands. 

Passport

In Japan it’s illegal to not have a passport on you at all times so please make sure you carry your own and any children traveling with you on your person at all times. 

Battery pack

Getting around Japan typically uses a lot of your phone battery. Have a good battery pack that’s charged every morning when you set off. 

Coin/money pouch & card

To buy things you need either yen or a credit card. It’s always good to have back up physical cash although most places accept a sucia card, debit, or credit card some still only take cash. 

Bandaids

Kids get hurt and bandaids psychologically make them feel better. 

Kleenex/ baby wipe

You never know when you need to get a booger out of a nose or wipe a dirty mouth or hand off. 

Hand soap sheets 

In Japan some public bathrooms don’t have soap, bringing along these dry soap sheets can make those bathroom trips more sanitary. 

Water

Kids get thirsty a lot and if you are nursing your kiddo, you will be thirsty a lot, bring a long a water bottle of some sort to keep hydrated. 

Plastic bag for trash

Japan is a pretty clean country, but they don’t have too many public trash cans. Make sure you bring a trash bag so you can take your trash with you. 

Vaseline

Vaseline is an M.V.P on the go, lip balm, cut healer, skin moisturizer, the possibilities are expansive. Pack a tiny jar to bring around.

Japan with kids doesn’t have to be hard. It’s a great country to visit even with your brood in tow.
