Personally, I feel like country music gets a bad rap for being all about drinking, smoking, and girls. But there are a lot of wholesome country songs with great morals in them. When I listen to most of these songs they make me cry because they’re so sweet and full of great concepts that are very relatable for me.
Watching You- Rodney Atkins
This is a sweet song about a daddy and his 4 year old son. The son is learning both bad and good things from his father, causing the father to realize how careful he needs to be about certain habits.
Buy Dirt- Jordan Davis
My son loves this song. It’s a song about an older man giving a young man advice about “making a dollar count”. He says to “send your prayers up and your roots down deep”. He talks about how life is short and that you can’t buy happiness.
People Are Crazy- Billy Currington
This is a song my brother liked, and it’s probably the least wholesome on this list, but I have included it because it’s a song about living life and sharing God with strangers. The refrain of this song is “God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy”.
Never Grow Up- Taylor Swift
This Taylor Swift song is about a mother wishing her child doesn’t ever get older. The mother wants to keep the child’s innocence and each verse goes to a new stage of life for the daughter. It’s a sweet song about a mother’s love.

Butterfly Kisses- Bob Carlisle
Like Taylor Swift’s song, this is a song about a father’s love for his daughter. Its verses go through different stages of his little girl’s life as she grows up. If you haven’t heard this song before and you have a little girl, this song may make you sob your eyes out.
God Gave Me You- Blake Shelton
Blake Shelton wrote a great song about love and how his wife is a gift from God. The chorus talks about the rollercoaster of life- “God gave me you for the ups and downs”.
Automatic- Miranda Lambert
This song is about how automated our world has become, talking about how much farther money could get you, and older technology like stick shift, polaroid’s, and cassettes. It’s a song about taking your time to do things and being more patient.
The House That Built Me- Miranda Lambert
Miranda Lambert’s song is about going to visit her old childhood home. She talks about all the memories she has from the house. She says “I got lost in this old world and forgot who I am”, so she wants to visit her childhood home and try to find herself again.
I Saw God Today- George Strait
This song talks about how God is in the everyday ordinary things if you take a moment to see them. Then a huge miracle comes at the end- his own baby girl.
Just Another Day In Paradise- Phil Vassar
This song is about everyday life between a husband and wife. They may be struggling, but they are making it through all the challenges, loving each other and God.\
